Aula Energy Awards Early Works Contract for Queensland’s Boulder Creek Wind Farm to DT Infrastructure

Aula Energy, a specialist renewable energy business dedicated to developing, building and operating onshore renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand, has today announced it has awarded the early works contract for the Boulder Creek Wind Farm in central Queensland to DT Infrastructure.

CEO of Aula Energy, Chad Hymas, said the contract with DT Infrastructure is significant for the company and marks an important milestone for its most advanced project and Queensland’s newest wind farm.

“This marks the beginning of what we hope will be a fruitful and long partnership between Aula Energy, DT Infrastructure and their parent company Gamuda Berhad,” he said.

“I was thrilled to join Gamuda founder Dato Lin and senior executives in Kuala Lumpur to sign their first contract and cement our relationship,” he said.

“As a new player in the Australian renewable energy sector, we’re excited to be able to leverage the huge expertise of Gamuda in engineering and construction, together with an experienced local contractor in DT Infrastructure.”

Boulder Creek Wind Farm is an up to 372 MW onshore wind farm, located 40 km southwest of Rockhampton and approximately 5 km west of Mount Morgan in central Queensland. The project is being developed by Aula Energy and is expected to comprise up to 60 wind turbines when fully developed.

Upon the completion of Stage 1, the Boulder Creek Wind Farm is expected to consist of 38 turbines with a generating capacity of 228 MW. When stage 1 is fully operational, the wind farm could provide renewable power to the equivalent of up to 115,000 homes.

The project obtained Queensland State Development Approval in October 2021 and Federal Government Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC) Approval in June 2022. Cultural Heritage Agreements are in place with the Gangulu and Darumbal Peoples.
